a fagulha dá o tom:
milho pululante em areia odoyá
deburo no início d’ alvorada
é sob o amarelo-palha
o lume a mirar-me
é com mão xaxará
curas cortejos
flana brincante de sol
cirandeia mistérios
de morte/vida
e tudo em si / a ti
mais-velho, das chagas
ancestralidade andarilha
num corpo tão político
de afeto na linguagem
anterior a língua
que do verbo nos une
o descalço dos pés
ao todo-telúrico

Under the yellow straw / The light looks at me / Deeply
In one hand he holds the xaxará / The cure / The procession
He flies playing with the sun
He dances with life and death / Mysteries
Everything is in him / Is for him
My old man / My hiker ancestor
Your body is political / Your affection is a first language
Your verb puts us close / To the energy of the earth
Daisy Serena is a Brazilian visual artist, poet, and activist living and working in São Paulo. She studied sociology and politics at Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo. Tautologias, her debut poetry collection, was published by Padê Editorial in 2016.
